Jubilee Lake Outpost
Enjoy Remote Fly-In Fishing Outposts
The fly-in fishing outpost on Jubilee Lake is located 45 miles northeast of Ear Falls in Ontario, Canada. Jubilee Lake offers abundant walleye and northern pike fishing, with over 16 miles of shore line and water depths in excess of 90 feet. The outpost is located on the east bay of the lake, which allows anglers to fish nearby in all wind conditions.
The new Jubilee Outpost cabin was entirely rebuilt in the spring of 2012 with large groups of guests in mind. It easily accommodates up to 8 people comfortably. There are 2 large bedrooms with single and double beds. The main living area has a sizable large, custom made table with 8 chairs and a futon for hanging out or reading. The enclosed porch gives guests an additional 260 square feet of living space and with windows on all exterior walls, offers great views of the lake and the woods. It is also entirely screened in, making it the perfect place to enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks and a card game, around another custom made table that seats up to 8 people.
The kitchen area was designed with lots of cupboard space so guests can store supplies for the week. It also has a refrigerator (an additional fridge and freezer are in the fish house), sink, stove/oven, counter space and is equipped with dishes and cooking utensils. The cabin also has a modern bathroom with a large shower and lots of hot running water available.
In case it gets cold outside, there’s a wood-burning stove that can be used to heat the cabin, although the cabin is totally insulated so you may not need it. The new insulation helps keep the cabin cool on the exceptional hot day and warm on those cool Canadian nights.
Outside of the cabin there’s a picnic table, outdoor propane fish cooker and an outdoor grill so guests can cook and enjoy meals outdoors. There is also a large screened-in fish cleaning facility that doubles as extra storage space since it houses an additional refrigerator and a deep freezer, where fish that’s planned to be taken home can be stored.
A fly-in fishing outpost located in the remote Canadian wilderness can mean a rugged stay for guests. Not so at Jubilee. The outpost cabin was built to offer guests modern conveniences. The solar powered water pumping system offers modern indoor plumbing at any time of the day or night. The solar powered lights in the cabin and on the porch, allow guests to play cards or read, long after a sunset. And propane powers the hot water heater, refrigerators and freezer. If guests are looking for a bit more power, there’s also a generator on site that can be used for vital power (for items like CPAP machines) via the 110 V power plug-ins in the cabin bedrooms.
